Black American walnut worktop upstands and matching worktops create a more pleasing overall kitchen design, whilst also hiding the required small 5mm expansion gap between the worktop and wall. Leaving this gap is strongly advised; this provides the worktop with the necessary room for natural expansion and contraction with changes in environmental temperature.
These black American walnut kitchen upstands are also suggested when fitting wood worktops against uneven walls, as they will help to conceal any gaps between the wall and worktop that would otherwise be on show.
Our black American walnut kitchen worktop upstands are supplied with a square-edged finish to make fitting quick and easy whilst creating a chunky aesthetic, though they can otherwise be supplied with a variety of edge profiles applied to be in-keeping with your kitchen’s styling.

All of our solid wood upstands are pre-sanded and untreated as standard. We advise using Osmo Top Oil during the installation process to seal your wooden upstand. Should you wish to take advantage of our pre-oiling service, please contact our customer service team.
